Hello from Down Under

Post by kit_kat on Wed Jul 08, 2015 5:13 am

Hi everyone! *waves*

I first noticed Makies about a year ago but got distracted with my other dolly addictions (Blythe, Odeco-chan). Recently I've seen some awesome Makies pop up in my Instagram feed and it tempted me to get back into the lab and try my hand at making someone I might actually want to get printed. This is my collection of girls so far: https://mymakie.com/people/kit_kaht/

I think Marlee is going to be number one off the production line. I have spent so many hours over the past week tinkering with her details and I'm finally happy that she might actually turn out like I imagine. Is it just me, or do their chins turn out a little pointer in real life than they look in their digital images? And does anyone else walk through the streets and see people's faces in a whole new way?? I think I've been in front of those sliders WAY too long, but I'm seriously passing people and thinking "...Oooh your nose arch would totally be far right on the slider etc."   Shocked  Very Happy

It won't be long before I get my girl printed, so I look forward to sharing my excitement (impatience!) and then pictures with you.

Welcome! Your virtual Makies are all super cute! Yes, I do think that the chins turn out a bit pointier irl. The face up and skin tone isn't 100% the same either.

Yay another Aussie! Welcome to the forums, your virtual makies are so cute. Don't worry you are not alone, I look at strangers and even some of my friends then think "Ah your nose design would look great on a makie boy. Hmmmmm would he be elven though?" I will just make a new makie design in my head almost immediately.Very Happy
Anyway I can't wait to see picture of your makie when you order her.

Thanks for the welcome Tesa and KimonoKittyCat! Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way. Looking forward to getting to know you and your Makies better  Smile

I must admit, I do look at people and wonder how close I could get with the sliders. I also look forward to seeing other people's makies made real. It is a sickness. Ha! Welcome! Based on the picture of Marlee, I noticed you joined the facebook group as well. :-) So welcome, welcome.

Hello Artful Owl! Yes, I did join up on the Facebook group too. So good to hear we share the slider sickness tee hee - it's almost like I'm seeing people more 3D than I ever did before. I see you collect MLP too - very cool! I have a few. I love your Makie's skull beanie too!!

Kit_kat - thanks, the beanie had been offered by makielab at one point.

Tesa - It is a closed group, so when you go to the link you will want to click the button that requests access and someone will add you.
