@Miss Heny - the LUTS body? I have no idea, I presume the price is specific to every time the limited event swings round. No way to tell until the next event!

I have heard that if you want to water down acrylic paint that you should do it with fabric medium. Apparently the fabric medium keeps the paint from being streaky. I suggest that you look up information on it before doing this though because I'm not an expert and I only remember one graphic from a tutorial where the author was contrasting using water with acrylic paint vs. fabric medium.

It's also called textile medium and Google defines it as a substance that prevents bleeding of colors during painting and converts acrylic paint into washable fabric paint.

I tried to find examples from the UK that weren't on Amazon since I've heard that AmazonUK is not the best place to buy things from. I can't find the tutorial that I remember this advice from though.

As for paint, maybe an airbrush? lol. Someone a while ago did darken up a pocahontas makie using acrylic watered down, if i'm remembering correctly. Didn't post a step by step though which was a shame, but the photos looked pretty excellent. I'll run some experiments heh.
Heh heh, hi yeah that was me. There wouldn't have been much of a step-by-step to show, really. I mixed brown acrylic with a lot of water, took the doll apart, and painted each piece (it's been a while but I think it took like 5 coats), then sealed with Mod Podge when I was done.

I have read a lot about textile medium but never used it myself. I like repainting, but I'm not super-fancy.

AHAH! see I knew you had to be about somewhere Okore lol.

You did such a great job with that doll, perfect tanned colour. Wish they had found a way to make a dye that was the right shade because toward the end it really was two almost white tones and one dark tone, which isn't very diverse really.

I may look into rit dye tan and dunk my eye clip thingy into it first to see what happens hehe

I'd recommend picking the color you want from this link which gives color recipes.

https://www.ritstudio.com/color-library/pantone-seasonal-colors/

I haven't tried Rit tan alone, but it doesn't seem very dark. You might also be interested to know that Rit dye remover can make the nylon speckly. It doesn't remove color evenly, so it might be advisable to just dye over the current color. Artful Owl has used Rit dye remover on the standard black Makie shoes to try re-dyeing and the effect is pretty crazy.

In case you have that hankering to design more Makies, the creator is still available here: https://mymakie.com/makie/design/?country=GB

I found it through fiddling with the Dev site, linked somewhere on the forum. Smile Enjoy!
