Custom backplate

Post by Purple_Monkfish on Mon Feb 09, 2015 9:09 pm

Jen (back in 2013) said:

Every Makie has a backplate, which you can remove to install wires and batteries for Arduino brains, or to hide special stuff - like spare hands, or maybe a secret stash of little sweets.

James, our resident product engineer, just prototyped a backplate with a really useful cutout:

Yep, he can snap bits of LEGO on there, like this!

There have got to be 1001(+) uses for this idea. I think gzorn might like a parachute…

Gosh I wish this had been rolled out, little Makie jetpacks oh yes

But also consider what else you could do with tweaks to the back plate. Holes for extra limbs or wings, or tentacles... <_<

I completely agree! I have a boy makie designed that I want to be a spider so this would be perfect! Very Happy  I will have to buy some bag of bits and experiment. Though just think of makies with things like wigs or tails sticking out of them. Oh so many possbilies Shocked Very Happy.
