Tea dyed her

Post by makies23 on Mon Feb 16, 2015 7:15 pm

After much hesitation I suddenly decided to tea dye Lenora.
I am much more happier with the less extreme white and the
results are even more noticeable in person. Thanks so
much purple monkfish for putting this info out there!

You can see the original white on her scalp.

I'm having trouble uploading a photos so I have to post a link

Oh wow, well done! That's lovely! Such a soft colour, really attractive.

Thanks so much guys for the comments. I know it's not much of a change yet something as simple as a tiny increase in colour can do wonders.

@doll yay - I used green tea

I think the change is just right - nice and subtle and more natural looking.

I think you're right, that was just the touch she needed. Smile

Wow, never in a million years would I have thought that GREEN tea would produce such a pretty skintone! Shocked

lol, I would have been too worried that my Makie would come out a pale green. Laughing

Hmm, I might just have to check out this tea dying.... I always knew it was a way to subtly dye paper and cloth, but it hadn't occured to me to try it with other materials... like Makies. Smile

@ miss read  - Yes, it is an improvement and i'm happy that I did it, yet I see more tea dying in her future to get it just right. Smile

@jryu - I had no idea too, it was purplemonkfish's experiments with tea that made me try it out. I liked how some tea varieties were giving the suble results I was after and decided to go for it. Smile
